Drama Ties Theatre is proud to present it's new theatre in education show

CInderella Steps Up! Theatre in Education show for french schools

About the show

Cinderella is a story of transformation. In our version, the magic isn’t just in the glass slippers or the fairy godmother… The magic is also in the dressing up box. Children instinctively know that dressing up isn’t just about pretending to be someone else, but about opening themselves up to new possibilities. A cape, a crown, a pair of sparkly shoes… all of this gives us courage, imagination, and the power to shine.
This adaptation celebrates this playful spirit. Our Cinderella resists peer pressure, those others who seem cooler. She learns to blossom, to be proud of who she is. She doesn’t even need a prince! With music, slapstick, and active audience participation, the show reminds us that the most beautiful outfit we can wear is self-confidence.
In the grand tradition of British pantomime, we invite you to applaud, boo, laugh, and join us. May this Cinderella inspire every child (and every adult) to open life’s dress-up box, try something bold, and discover the magic of being true to themselves.

Our Story

Cinderella… hopeful, bright, and generous. A new school year begins, and she’s determined to win the best costume contest at prom! But to win, she has to join “Da Step Sistas,” the trendy gang. This clique is insensitive, selfish, and tyrannical. With the help of her mouse friends (played by students in the audience), her boyfriend Gus, and Bippity, Boppity, and Boo, will Cinderella finally win the contest?

A play full of songs, humor, and audience participation that puts an end to bullying once and for all.

Original Music in the show

A Drama Ties play is always a delightful experience… The staging is dynamic, the set design simple yet ingenious, and the actors deliver powerful performances that evoke a wide range of emotions. Young and old alike listened, participated, laughed, and sang. Even though the subject matter (exclusion) is serious, the play is ultimately joyful. It's an antidote to gloom and inspires us to bring out the best in ourselves. The students loved it. The audience was enthusiastic. The text is perfectly accessible to middle school students… At no point is the language an obstacle to understanding… For the students, it's a golden opportunity to experience live performance in English. Standing ovation!

An exciting, fast-paced and interactive show bursting with energy and talent, tackling a meaningful theme with intelligence and humour. Student participation makes it great fun and keeps everyone engaged from start to finish. Rush to see the show with your students !

Cinderella Steps Up! manages to deal with incredibly serious theme in a light and approachable way without losing any of the depths of the subject matter at hand. An entertaining and greatly moving experience.

The actors were engaging and made the story easy to follow. It was both meaningful and thought-provoking for a young audience.
